A bronze statue commemorating his life as an abolitionist and champion of women's rights stands tall as the Gateway to Harlem anchored at the northwest corner of Central Park. Infused with fruits and botanicals, Harlem Candle Co. has re-imagined the Orangerie from Douglass's childhood to include juicy bergamot, yuzu, and fresh green cardamom which sets the stage for a heart of vanilla orchid, cypress, and ginger blossom.
