From The Amalgam Collection. The Jaguar XKD, or D-Type, was originally developed in 1953 and featured an aircraft style, monocoque chassis. It could reach over 190mph, making it the fastest race car of the 1950's. Jaguar D-Types have a glorious racing history winning at Le Man in 1955, 1956 and 1957. The Ralph Lauren car, chassis No. XKD 505/601 finished second at Reims in 1956 and sixth at Le Mans in 1957. This car is appropriately painted in British Racing Green.
